AgeSong Gero-Wellness Program

Creating an environment that supports people to find meaning and purpose in their lives regardless of age is what the AgeSong internship program is all about. Through its partnership with Pacific Institute's nonprofit elder care program and internship program called AgeSong Institute, the AgeSong communities welcome up to 40 master and doctorate level psychology and Marriage and Family therapist (MFTs) into our buildings each year to work with residents, family and staff.

This emotional and therapeutic support creates an individual and group milieu that is like no other.

Programs and groups include individual emotional support, "in the moment" interactions, meaning-based enrichment programs, family education, expressive arts, behavioral health, palliative care and integrative wellness programs.

The programs promote awareness in the way we understand aging, growing old and the role of eldership and seek to help change the paradigm for teaching and learning how to care for the elderly in a more humanistic, process-oriented perspective.

"A big thank you to the residents, families, interns, staff, volunteers and our community supporters for the trust and confidence you have given us for over a decade. Please know the learning that takes place in AgeSong Communities is carried far and wide, and lasts a lifetime. It takes all of us to continue our tradition to be Warriors of the Heart and Midwives of the Soul" - Pacific Institute Board Members
