Conversations with Ed, Part 1: Joy in Aging Series Video

Sharon of KRON Channel 4 speaks with author, licensed psychotherapist, and AgeSong cofounder, Dr Nader Shabahangi, and Ed Voris. Ed and Nader coauthored Conversations with Ed, a book about forgetfulness and dementia.

Ed explains to Sharon the how and why they met. Ed was diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer’s and he realized he wanted to be proactive and do something about it.

Nader mentions that Ed through a friend found out about AgeSong and it’s unique approach to what standard medicine calls dementia care, which AgeSong calls forgetfulness care. Ed liked what he was hearing and flew up from Orange County and met with Nader and they spoke together about what was going on with him.

Sharon asks how AgeSong was able to put together a program to fit Ed’s needs. Nader talks about how that initial meeting’s found that there was something useful with forgetfulness. There was the intention to find what they could do and work with that.
